Maternity Photo Ideas via the Web

I am getting really excited about my upcoming maternity photo sessions. I have one planned for our beach vacay which is next week- yippee! Then, a lovely friend volunteered to do some for me back home too. I have found some really incredible inspiration photos online and wanted to share with you and get some feedback.

Isn't this lovely? I adore the simplicity and the white on black and white tones. I love the big hat idea too! I'm working on the outfit for this shot now!

Since I'm due in January, this would be so fun to do in our wooded yard! Hubs could take this one!

If you haven't noticed, I love shots taken outdoors embracing the greenery and natural lighting.

Love the femininity of this shot.

I think a shot similar to this would be cool in front of some old buildings- has a nice vintage feel to it.

Kind of generic but still cute!

This is one of my favorite ideas so far! Love the earthy background and cute cowgirl look.

This was another of my top picks but finding this skirt has been a nightmare. A girlfriend offered to make it but the cost was too high for a one time wear. But, I adore the fluidity.

I have this brown and cream vintage peignoir set that I would love to do a buidor shot in!

  1. Stunning. I wish I had done more like this. Another cute one to do is to show yourself in one spot pregnant and then take the exact same photo again (in very similar clothes) with the baby in your arms.

  2. Wow! These are absolutely stunning. I wish I had done ANY maternity pics. What was I thinking?? Looking back, that is such a bummer that I have no pictures like this. Boo.

I'm sure yours will be beautiful!! Can't wait!

  4. I like the Frame shot the best, but there are a lot of great ideas here. I think it really depends on who you, and your family are- do you want to go soft and gentle, or bold and celebratory?

  5. Love the one with the mommy and daddy holding the baby clothes between then. I also like the Black and white ones a lot.

  6. I love that last one, it'll be great for on the beach! And the one with the clothes-line? Adorable! I love where maternity photography has gone--way creative and fun--and love seeing pics like this. Whatever you end up doing I'm sure is going to be wonderful and fun :)

  13. These are really great. My favorite ones are the one holding the picture frame, and the cowgirl on the logs. Oh okay, and the clothesline shot is pretty adorable too!
